First 2 Malaysian Certification Bodies Accredited to MSPO

Updated: Apr 19, 2018

Date: 21 February 2017

The Accreditation of Certification Bodies (ACB) program under the MSPO Certification Scheme was officially launched on 1 June 2016 by the Department of Standards Malaysia (Standards Malaysia). <http://www.jsm.gov.my/programmes#.WJmCtfl96M8>

As of December 2016, six (6) Malaysian-based Certification Bodies (CBs) had submitted full application to Standards Malaysia for accreditation.  We are pleased to inform that two of the CBs, SGS (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and DQS Certification (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., have been awarded accreditation, making them the first to be accredited  under the MSPO Certification Scheme.

The accreditation of the CBs by Standards Malaysia allows for the transfer of existing MSPO certificates to accredited MSPO certificates to gain broader recognition.  The accredited MSPO certificates will retain the original certificate validity period.

Congratulations to both SGS (Malaysia) and DQS Certification on this achievement.  As the MSPO Certification Scheme owner, MPOCC now welcomes oil palm plantation companies, mills and smallholder groups to contact the accredited CBs to carry out auditing for MSPO certification.
